Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) is a federally-funded program, created to address the overdose crisis in the U.S. Duval County was awarded part of this grant to link our community with services, combat stigma, and guide people onto the road to recovery. Though this program covers all addictions, with a special emphasis on opioid addiction and overdoses.
Program Goals
- Decrease addiction and drug overdose death rates, including prescription and illicit drug overdose death rates by informing the public about prevention resources
- Decrease rate of substance misuse and addiction
- Decrease rate of emergency department visits due to overdose
- Support our medical community by supplying evidence-based treatment information for substance use disorder and patient targeted informational materials
OD2A Partner Agencies
Yoga 4 Change provides trauma-informed yoga to individuals with substance use disorder.
HPCNEF oversees the operation, development, implementation, and coordination of the subcontractors for OD2A.
Gateway Community Services, Inc. uses navigators to support linkage to care. Gateway works to build comfort and confidence among clinicians to support provision of pain care as well as MOUD. Provides training and support to peers working with disproportionately affected persons.
Inspire to Rise through community behavioral health, education, peer support and arts services.
The University of Florida College of Medicine distributes Lock Bags and provides counseling to limit access to potentially lethal medication in the home.
NAMI Jacksonville provides peer recovery support to individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) in community-based settings.
Florida State University provides clinician training for effective pain management, evidence-based non-opioid and non-pharmacologictreatments, provides Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), conductspeer training and support,ensures tailored communication and stigma reduction campaigns.
City of Jacksonville uses navigators to support linkage to care.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office uses navigators to support linkage to care.
North Florida HIDTA distributes naloxone to highest risk of overdose or with disparate rates of overdose.
CORE aims to eliminate the stigma of addiction and treat substance use disorder as a disease with the same level of continuous care.
