- Make a Kit: To stay safe and ready for any disaster strike, it is important to prepare your family disaster kit by gathering some of the basic supplies. It is also important to place them in a portable container so that you can comfortably carry them in case disaster strikes.

To continually train and prepare our internal and external stakeholders to provide an effective response to all emergencies or disasters.
The Florida Department of Health in Duval County (DOH-Duval) Emergency Preparedness Office is actively involved in planning and responding to the public health needs of the community during an emergency or disaster. Priorities of DOH-Duval are to assure the delivery of essential medical and public health services are maintained or restored following a disaster and that assistance is provided to meet emergency needs of the affected population.
