The Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (FBCC) makes it easy to get the breast and cervical cancer screenings doctors recommend. The screenings are free if program eligibility requirements are met.

Purpose: To provide breast and cervical cancer screenings to women in the Greater Jacksonville area.

Who is the program for?
- Women ages 40 through 64
- Women who do not have health insurance, which will cover the cost of a mammogram, clinical breast exam, pelvic exam/Pap test
- Women who are not covered by Medicaid or Medicare Part B
- Women who meet the income guidelines of the program (at or below 200% of the federal poverty level)
- Women who are Florida residents and reside in one of the following counties: Clay, Duval, Baker, Nassau, or St. Johns
What services are available through the program?
- Breast and cervical cancer screening exams (clinical breast exams, mammograms, and Pap tests)
- Assistance with various follow-up diagnostic tests if the physician recommends them and grant funding is available; or assistance in locating a facility that will provide the tests at a reduced cost if testing must be obtained outside the program
- Free care coordination if screening or diagnostic testing is abnormal
- Women screened through the program and diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer are referred to Florida Medicaid for eligibility determination.
Why should I have an exam?
- Mammograms can find breast cancer before it can be detected by breast exams.
- Many women do not have symptoms at the time breast cancer is detected.
- The chance of survival increases if cancer is found early.
- Detecting cervical cancer before it spreads is easy with regular Pap tests.
