The Department of Health in Duval County (DOH-Duval) is affiliated with the State of Florida’s Department of Health. DOH-Duval serves approximately 937,000 Jacksonville, Florida residents. The health department currently has 448 employees and a $34 million budget.

DOH-Duval’s growth over the years is attributed to the hard work and dedication of staff and community partners. Some of the many partnerships established by DOH-Duval include the University of Florida, UF Health Jacksonville, University of North Florida College of Health, Jacksonville Children’s Commission, Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition, Environmental Protection Agency, Agency for Toxic Substances, and Disease Registry.

DOH-Duval has recently enhanced the image of its health centers and facilities expanding to include more spacious and state-of-the-art facilities situated throughout Jacksonville. In an effort to address personal and environmental health issues more effectively, DOH-Duval includes residents of Jacksonville in various capacities such as focus groups and advisory councils. Together our facilities address the varied health needs of the residents of Duval County.
