WHO: The Florida Department of Health in Duval County Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and Nutrition Services.
WHEN: Wednesday, September 17, 2014 | 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
WHERE: Pearl Nutrition Services |5322-24 N. Pearl Street | Jacksonville, FL 32208
WHY: The Open House will showcase the newly renovated WIC and Nutrition Services Center that offers nutrition education, nutrient-rich supplemental food, health and social service referrals and the “Raising Healthy Children Curriculum.” The program will also feature details on the North Pearl WIC Art Contest to highlight local youth talent and creativity.

WIC is a nutrition program for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding or who have recently been pregnant, infants & children under age 5.
WIC provides the following at no cost:
- healthy foods
- nutrition education and counseling
- breastfeeding support
- referrals to health care, immunizations, and community services
To be income-eligible for WIC:
You must have a total household income equal to or less than the amounts shown in the WIC Income Guidelines OR you are income-eligible if you are currently receiving Medicaid, Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA), or Food Assistance. However, you do not have to be on a public assistance program to qualify for WIC.
