Blacks are MOST AFFECTED by HIV in the United States
- Blacks account for a higher proportion of new HIV diagnoses, those living with HIV, and those ever diagnosed with AIDS, compared to other races/ethnicities.
- In 2015, Blacks accounted for 45% of HIV diagnoses, though they comprise 12% of the US population.
- In 2016 one in 171 adults living in Duval, Baker, Clay, St. Johns, and Nassau Counties were known to be living with HIV. One in 401 were White. One in 315 were Hispanic. One in 56 were Black.
