The Florida Department of Health in Duval County offers full medical care for children from birth to age 20 at numerous health centers throughout Jacksonville. Regular check-ups, sick care, well care, immunizations, and dental care are examples of services available to children and teens. Dental care is available in one of our dental centers or on one of our mobile dental buses. The buses travel to neighborhoods throughout Jacksonville at area schools, churches, camps, and other locations.

We also offer primary care for adults, where we focus on preventive care and the management of chronic health conditions. Having a baby? Enroll in one of our health centers and the Healthy Start Program to receive prenatal care, breastfeeding education and support, counseling, parenting education, home visits, and more.

Women and teens can also receive family planning and birth control at one of our women’s health centers. Women ages 50 and over who qualify can enroll in the Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Program to get a mammogram and Pap test.

Diabetes and other chronic health conditions can be managed. The Hospital Emergency Room Alternatives Program (HERAP) and A New DEAL Diabetes Education Program work with individuals and families to help with disease management.

Our patients can fill their prescriptions at one of our two convenient pharmacy locations.

We have a dedicated team of physicians, dentists, nutritionists, health educators, mental health counselors, social workers, pharmacists, family support workers, health support technicians, and other health personnel who provide quality care to our patients.

If you need a medical home, call 904-253-1130 to be connected with an Enrollment Counselor.
