3rd Annual Cracker Barrel Sista Strut Breast Cancer Walk

 September 22, 2018 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Event Location

Jacksonville Landing
2 W. Independent Dr.
Jacksonville, FL 32202

Join us on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Jacksonville Landing for the 3rd Annual Cracker Barrel Sista Strut 3K Breast Cancer Walk presented by Acceptance Auto Insurance. The rally starts at 8:00 a.m. and the 3K walk begins at 10:00 a.m. The Cracker Barrel Sista Strut aims to heighten awareness about the issues of breast cancer in women of color, as well as provide information on community resources. Studies show that African American women are more likely to get breast cancer at a younger age and have a death rate from breast cancer twice that of Caucasian women of the same age. Sista Strut recognizes the strength of survivors, their family and friends, heightens awareness, promotes early detection and the search for a cure.

Precision Imaging Centers will be providing mammograms during the event. The Florida Department of Health in Duval County will be on-site to enroll women ages 50-64 into the Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (FBCCEDP). The FBCCEDP will cover 100% of the cost of a mammogram for those who qualify.
